The Kalmiopsis leachiana is an ice-age relic predating all other members of the ericaceae plant order. Resembling a dwarfed rhododendron, the small pink flower grows only the 180,000-acre Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area. This sketch by local artist Chamise Kramer magnifies the flower by about 50 times, revealing the fine detail and contours that make it so special. Printed on a salmon-pink poly-blend tee that breathes nicely and wears well on all sizes and shapes.
