Outings & clinics with Siskiyou Mountain Club
We organize outings and clinics to empower participants to connect with their public lands, and with each other. Getting together with friends and family on public lands is an American past time, and we aim to strengthen that legacy through developing outdoor skills and facilitating safe, rewarding outdoor experiences for the public.
We model strong land ethic, demonstrate Leave No Trace principles, share what we know with others, and we always leave a place better than how we found it. Each activity has detailed descriptions and sign-up instructions. Check out the calendar and sign up now.
Our leaders
Our outings and clinics leaders are volunteers and staff members who hold the knowledge, skills, and qualifications necessary for their activity. The qualifications vary by activity, but all of our leaders are expected to practice these four tenets:
- group safety and well-being is paramount
- model exceptional standards of outdoor etiquette
- strong communication throughout the process
- Inspire your participants to engage
Become an outings or clinic leader
We are always enlisting new volunteers to lead outings or clinics that are relevant to our mission. There is a quarterly interest orientation for potential new leaders and we provide staff support for each outing. Email info@siskiyoumountainclub.org now for details and to sign up.
