Join us for a two-day crosscut training course covering the safe and efficient use of crosscuts for trail maintenance at our facility in Gold Hill, Oregon.
Participating Sawyers may earn a U.S. Forest Service Sawyer Certification Card. The class is taught by our Cooperator Saw Program Coordinator Trevor Meyer.
In order to earn a Sawyer Certification Card you must follow-up with a field evaluation. Depending on class size and other factors, alternate dates may be made available at the instructors discretion.

Course Schedule
May 17, 2025 8AM-5PM: An introduction to the anatomy and maintenance of chain saws, and the necessary techniques for bucking logs.
May 18, 2025 8AM-5PM: Take to the trail with saws in hand. Working in small groups and under the guidance of an experienced Sawyer Instructor get one on one and small group coaching.
