Chainsaw Training Course - May 10-11th

Join us for a two-day chainsaw training course covering the safe and efficient use of chainsaws for trail maintenance at our facility in Gold Hill, Oregon. 

Participating Sawyers may earn a U.S. Forest Service Sawyer Certification Card. The class is taught by our Cooperator Saw Program Coordinator Trevor Meyer. 

In order to earn a Sawyer Certification Card you must follow-up with a field evaluation. Depending on class size and other factors, alternate dates may be made available at the instructors discretion.  

Course Schedule

May 10, 2025  8AM-5PM: An introduction to the anatomy and maintenance of chain saws, and the necessary techniques for bucking logs. 

May 11, 2025  8AM-5PM:  Take to the trail with saws in hand. Working in small groups and under the guidance of an experienced Sawyer Instructor get one on one and small group coaching. 

Location

Course will be held at our facility in Gold Hill, Oregon. The address will be provided once registration is complete. Overnight camping is available on site!

Non-Members: $45
