Spend the day with us helping to clear brush and logs from Horse Camp Trail, a connector route for the Butte Fork and Pacific Crest Trails. This section is part of a bigger network that offers visitors a long backpacking loop in and around the Red Buttes Wilderness.

You don’t need any prior trail work experience but should be prepared for a short but steep hike into the work site. A shuttle vehicle will leave Gold Hill, OR at 8am with a pickup option in Jacksonville and Ruch, OR. After the approximately 1.5 hour drive to the trailhead, we will grab our day packs and tools and hit the trail for some meaningful work. After which, SMC will provide snacks and beverages at the trailhead before returning to Gold Hill by 6pm.
