On February 28, we initiated a campaign to raise an additional $100,000 to help blunt the uncertainties we were presented with a new administration managing the US Forest Service. Donor Liz Landreth with the Ashland Hiking Group came in with a pledge to match up to $50,000 in gifts made between then and May 1.
The community met Liz's match, and then some. Between February 28 and May 1, including the match, we raised $144,213.37 in donations! We got 101 new members in that time!
So thank you -- thank you -- thank you to everyone who contributed! Whether you joined with a $45 membership, donated $100 or $1,000.
This has come with other great news.
Our agreement with the Mid-Klamath Watershed Council that was "frozen" has thawed with the snow and we're moving forward with our partnership restoring trails in the Marble Mountain Wilderness. Those Forest Service agreements that had already been active are being reimbursed on regularly -- thank you USFS partners -- and we are in a strong position for 2025.
We did cut some expenses and reduced our crew size for the season. But we are standing strong, working hard, and starting to peer into 2026. So once again, thank you to everyone who has given this spring.
